LIVING TERROIRS

“Biodiversity is intimately linked to our terroirs,
those terroirs that make our wines.”

Biodiversity actively encourages the presence of beneficial organisms and the dynamic interplay of life, crucial for the vine’s balanceband its innate defenses.

The strategic planting of trees and shrubs
(comprising 500 specimens of 21 different species as well as 170 meters of shrubs and small trees) around our vineyards not only contributes to this environmental equilibrium but also promotes a flourishing biodiversity.

IN LINE WITH THIS COMMITMENT,
MULTIPLE BIODIVERSITY REFUGES
ARE ESTABLISHED ON THE
OUTSKIRTS OF VINEYARDS.

CLOS GOUNON

1st biodiversity refuge

Nestled in the low terraces of Crozes-Hermitage, at the heart of our Thalabert Estate, this enclosed sanctuary, surrounded by a biodiversity-friendly wall, unfolds as a genuine mosaic of habitats: a pond, senescent oak woods, vineyards, a permanent meadow, fallow lands, thorny thickets, old structures—comprising a total of 7 hectares.
