RED WINE
One of France's ancient vineyards, Côte-Rôtie's Ampuis wines garnered acclaim during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, coveted by aristocratic tables. The designations Côte Blonde and Côte Brune allegedly stem from Lord Maugiron's division of his estate between his fair-haired and brunette daughters.

GEOLOGY
Vineyards of extremely steep, granite terraces, covered with layers of siliceous limestone in
the Côte Blonde and clay and iron oxide in the Côte Brune.
VINIFICATION
Hand-picked at maturity, destemmed, crushed, controlled alcoholic fermentation and
temperatures; vating over 3 to 4 week
AGEING
Aged for 12 months in French oak barrel (percentage of new wood varies with vintage)
SERVING TEMPERATURE
Ideal serving temperature is around 16 to 18°C.

Lentil and vegetables curry, Roast lamb, Duck confit, Ravioles de Romans and chanterelles
